The American Down and Feather Council Announces its New Chairman, Bringing Decades of Expertise to the Role
NEW YORK, NY (December 3, 2024) – The American Down and Feather Council (ADFC) has appointed Brandon Palmer, Co-President of United Feather and Down, as the new chairman, succeeding former chair Brett Rife of JLA Home. As the seventh generation of a business founded in 1797, Palmer possesses exceptional expertise in raw material sourcing, product development, and the marketing of filling materials and down products. With a rich history in the raw materials and bedding manufacturing industry, Palmer brings a great depth of knowledge and forward-thinking insight to this role.
Palmer has developed consumer product programs in bedding and outerwear for top retailers, brands, and hotels. He has led the creation of patents of filling materials along with the design patents for pillows.

Recognized as a leader in the industry, Palmer actively contributes to key organizations, serving on the Standards and Technical Committee of the ADFC and previously chaired its Marketing Committee. He is also a member of the International Down & Feather Bureau’s (IDFB) Technical Committee, chairs its Public Relations Committee, and holds a position on the IDFB Presidential Board, reinforcing his commitment to advancing industry standards.
